Most of us have seen at least one of the Indiana Jones movies in our lives and at least played with a set of Legos. I'll wager that few of us ever gave much serious thought about combining the two. However, that is exactly what Lucas Arts and Tt games did Ibm Thinkpad T500 Battery, and now PC gamers everywhere can get a shot at playing a blocked up version of Indiana Jones.
In the game our novice archaeologist/adventurers are given the option of playing in not just one, but all three of the classic Indiana Jones adventures. Courtesy of three separate maps housed behind the ivy coated walls of illustrious Barnett college, you have the option of switching between missions from Raiders of the Lost Ark Hp Pavilion Dv6 Battery, Temple of Doom and the Last Crusade. That is, after you have beaten the first mission in Raiders of the Lost Ark, which the game brings you into as it begins.
Each movie's map is broken down into smaller sub sections, individual missions, that represent the major plot points in the films, so you will get all of the action that you would expect from Indiana Jones, including boulder chasing, mine cart riding and enough hand to hand combat to keep things interesting. Oh, and a few explosions thrown in for good measure. While plot is no doubt on the letter, pacing is not always in line, and if you don't know what you need to do in some places, which will happen, then you could spend half an hour wandering a location that only took up 5 minutes of feature film. That said, variety seems to be the name of the game as during mission based play you are at least a half dozen characters, even if you only switch off of Indy when you absolutely have to. Certain characters come with enhanced skills, like female children who boost an increased jump height or small fry who can fit into crawl spaces where Indy could never go. No matter who you play as, you also have a wide variety of tools at your disposal which include torches, dynamite, swords Hp Pavilion DV2000 Battery, guns and bananas. (Yup, you read that last one right. You throw them to monkeys in exchange for things you need).
Extra features are also abundant at the college, where you can watch "movies" of the cut scenes, buy goodies, and extra characters for free play mode, to gain more pieces of artifacts- which are essentially souvenirs of each level. Since you can just buy the missing pieces, many gamers will just ignore this feature.
Overall, this game is worth both the price and the time spent playing. Controls are easy to use, once you get the hang of it. Game play is addictive and the Lego game delivers a solid platform experience that will satisfy both hardcore and casual players.
I rate this title is a must have for fans of all genres of gaming. This title is also perfect to give as a gift for birthdays or holidays. The ESRB rates this game at Everyone 10+, so you can even give it as a gift to your niece or nephew without fear of offending mom and dad.
